WMF Art Nouveau style fruit knife stand with two maidens on both sides, standing in front of a metal fence and picking fruit from a tree. Twelve slots along the top to hold the fruit knives. Oval shaped base with four feet. Impressed maker's marks on the inside of one foot, 'WMF' and 'B' - indicating Britannia-metal, a tin and antimony alloy, and 'OX' - Oxidised. The impressed decoration is chemically blackened and then polished to a matt finish.
