WMF Art Nouveau liqueur jug and tray. 1/4 pint jug with pierced, silver plated frame on four feet. Maiden's head on either side of the base, and stylized flowers in relief around the top. Scroll handle and removable stopper. Green glass liner. Impressed maker's marks to reverse of one foot 'WMF' ostrich mark, 'I/O' (normal thickness of plating/gilding), 'OX' (oxidized) and a star mark (export-ware or special production?). Impressed mark 'FRATH ROLLER/BUCAREST' to base edge. Impressed 'I/O' (normal thickness of plating/gilding) to stopper flange. Best nickel silver tray with pierced rim. Four ball feet to underside. Impressed maker's marks to underside edge 'as' (antique silver finish), 'WMF' ostrich mark and 'I/O' (normal thickness of plating/gilding). Service would originally have been complete with glasses, which are missing.
