Numbers 0-9 and roman numerals. Signed and dated 'M Mountain No.5 Orphan House Ashley Down Bristol 1879. Bristol is a City in England. The Bristol Orphan Houses at Ashley Down, also known as the Müller Orphanage, became the largest children's home in the UK, homing more than 2000 children. Sampler's originating from here are highly collected and sought after. Motifs include geometric patterns, the Holy Bible, potted flowering plants and various scrolls. Framed in an old hogarth frame with glass. Mounted to card, secured at the back with tape. Chipboard backing to the reverse with an old framer's label, dated December 1st 1955.
