The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches. Meandering floral border. Colours greens, cream, pale blue, white, black, browns and pinks. Verses read,
'Wisdom the Greatest Blefsing from above.>Sent to mankind by God In his Great Love.>Directs the Youth to knowledge. then to Peace.>So leads to solid Joys that never Cease.>Titles may set a Glofs upon our name.>But Virtue only is the Life of Fame.>Return all Kindnefses you do receive.>As far as your Ability gives leave.>This is to let you know and see.>What care my Parents took of me.'.
