The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in cross stitch throughout. Meandering strawberry border. Colours red, blue, green, black, white and brown. Family initials, RD & MA. Verse reads, 'AND the Lord God CaLLed Un> To adam and said UNTO him> Where art thou And he Said I> heard ThY VOICe In The Garden> And I was afraid BeCause I > Was NaKed and I hid mYself' and ' DUST?
