The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches. Meandering floral border. Colours red, green, dark brown, copper, gold, black, pink, blues and white. Inscription reads, 'XXX1 CHAP: PROVERB>13>She feeketh wool and flax, and worketh>willingly with her hands.>14>She is like the merchants fhips, fhe bringeth>her food from afar.>15>She rifeth also while it is yet night, and>giveth meat to her houfhold, and a portion>to her maidens.>16>She confidereth a field, and buyeth it: with>the fruit of her hands fhe planteth a vineyard.'.
