The sampler is worked in fine wool and a silk-like thread on linen ground, in a variety of stitches including Algerian eye. No border, divider lines in various patterns. Colours blues, cream, red, gold, pink, browns and greens. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and numbers 1-12 Inscription reads 'SaraH CrompTon is my name> AnD wiTH my HanD I wRovG> HT THE sAme.
