Verses read 'INSTRUCTION' 'Tis sweet as the music heaven> And fair as the dawn of the day> In mercy to mortals tis given> To scatter dark error away' and 'ENGLAND' 'A fairer isle than Britain never sun> Viewd in his wide career a lovely spot> For all that life can ask salubriuos mild> Its hills are green its woods and prospects fair> Its meadows fertile and to crown the whole> In one delightful world it is our home> Our native isle'. Signed with initials and dated 'Rebecca Seach Hicks 1830'.
