1836 Memorial Sampler by Louisa Horsey. Framed in an old, possibly original, black, ebonised wood frame with with gilt slip and rippled, old glass. Tacked and glued to a wood stretcher frame with brown paper backing. The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in cross stitch throughout. Meandering floral border. Colours greens, yellow, navy blue, black, gold and browns.
