1843 Beadwork Sampler by G A Bennett. Framed in an old wood frame with rippled, old glass. Fixed to linen with wood backing. The sampler is worked in silk and coloured beads on linen ground, in a variety of stitches. Meandering floral border. Colours green, red, copper, gold, black, cream and blue. Signed and dated 'G A Bennet February 11th 1843'. A good set of motifs, some finely detailed, including windmills, bee hives, dogs, flowers, potted flowering plants, fruit baskets, hearts, thistles, a church, a couple stood either side of a castle and fleurs de lis.
