The sampler is worked in fine wool on linen ground, in a variety of stitches including Algerian eye. No border, divider lines in various patterns. Colours red, cream, black, pink, blues and greens. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case and numbers 1-5. Inscription reads 'RememBeR Thy Creator in the days> of Thy Youth Anne ComBeRBeaTch'

'Love The LoRD and he will be a tenDer> fAther unto thee'. Signed and dated 'ELIZABETH ?XTOn RC IE. ThIs sempler WAS Finished The 21 of July 1712'. Consists of a variety of elaborately worked floral and foliate bands.
