Verse reads 'Jesus permit thy gracious name to stand,>As the first effort of a females hand:>And while her fingers oe'r this canvas move>Engage her tender heart to seek thy love,>With thy dear children let her share a part>And write thy name thyself upon her heart.' Signed and dated 'Caroline Wightman's Work Aged 12 1833'. A scattering of motifs, including flowers and a potted flowering plant.
