Pair of Parr Factory Staffordshire Pottery figures with a royalty theme which feature Prince and Princess of Wales on horseback, stood on an oblong base. We think they have possibly been matched up together at some stage because they are of different colouration, however we feel they go together very well. The pieces are titled, ''PRINCESS OF WALES' and 'PRINCE OF WALES'' to the fronts. Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to underside of one and reverse of the other. This piece represents Albert, Prince of Wales, and Princess Alexandra of Denmark. Albert, the eldest son of Victoria and Prince Albert, married Princess Alexandra of Denmark on 10th March 1863. Maker's marks painted to the underside.
